Classes at Capoeira Brazilian Pelourinho, exercise not only the body but also the mind. History, music, culture, tradition and language are taught from the very first class, creating a balance between physical strength and mental power. Our students are well rounded and posses integrity, confidence and self respect.
We believe in a strong sense of community not only within our art form but within our local community as well. We regularly participate in events with St Jude's Children's Hospital and Give Kids the World.
Capoeira Brazilian Pelourinho was founded in 1995 by Mestre Lazaro Santos. We believe in the ability of an individual to do anything they put their mind to. We strive to continue in the traditions and culture of the Brazilian martial art of Capoeira in remembrance of the African slaves who created it as a tool for their liberation.
It's one of the best things I could have ever done. I'm always so stiff and rigid when it comes to school and work, but with this, I can let loose and actually have fun outside my monotony.
I wish I would've joined earlier.
The place is so amazing, so welcoming - you feel like you're at home almost instantaneously.
When I was in High School, I was part of the Theater department for three years in a row, and after I joined Capoeira, I found I had more friends there than in the Theater dept. I was part of.
They really treat you like family, it's the Brazilian spirit in action =]
It has helped me keep in shape, and me and my body feel SO much better now that I'm active. The energy of the place is amazing, too.
I love everything about it, and I'm terribly sad I have to move away so soon. If I could, I'd stay here just for my Capoeira classes!
It's a flowy, not restricted kind of Martial Arts, and it allows me to be very active with my body. I'm not just learning, I'm having fun doing it. ?
I was one of the laziest people on earth until joining the class about 4 months ago. I always figured any martial arts would be too stressful for my taste and bore me, this class actually keeps my attention and encourages me to keep active while promoting good health. Works for me, my life span probably sucked before joining...haha. Thanks for keeping me alive.
Training at CBP has allowed my to open my body and my mind to things that I would have never though possible. What's more, Capoeira at CBP has given me greater motivation and focus in other aspects of my life as well.
If you want to be a stronger minded, more motivated person who believes in others and more importantly, believes in themself, Capoeira Brazilian Pelourinho is a way to achieve that goal.
The best way to lose wait the right way! Eat healthy and do Capoeira and you are guaranteed to lose weight in two weeks! The best way to get that toned summer body you want for the summer^_^
This is place is full of awesomeness, where to start? I attend their branch directed by Formado Folklore in the east side of Orlando. Unlike any other martial arts, you get to take with you more than just the movements, you learn a history, you learn an art, you learn a dance, and you learn how to use your body has an effective weapon. I've only been there for a month, but I have already developed a passion for capoeira and a drive to push my body to its limits. Come enjoy the music and the techniques that this great martial art has to offer, you will always feel welcomed, I guaranteed it.
