The shop feels dirty. The staff is rude. Their version of eclairs, B&W cookies, etc is really, really weird. I hate to say this, but their stuff is terrible. Ultimately, everything I bought ended up getting pitched because after one bite, no one picked their treat back up to finish. Really disappointing.
Their cupcakes are wonderful; fresh, dense and moist. The rugelach is flaky and tender, with a gooey center. Birthday cakes - outstanding. When I was growing up, Charlie's was THE place to get your birthday cake. If you stick to these three items, you will be very happy with Charlie's.
However, the service is perfunctory, and I cannot recommend anything else they sell.
I'm sorry but there stuff is tasteless, dry and boring. In fact when a friends say they are going to bring something over from them, I say don't bother it wont' get eaten. I guess my sweet tooth craves more like from TooJay's. Or OMG Ronnie's, how I miss thee.
Every birthday and special occasion cake for the past 20 years for my family has come from Charlies and we have never been dissappointed. They even get us in there during music lessons at the Bandroom. Keep doing what you're doing Charlie's
Consistently great fresh pastries and bakery goods. It is wonderful to have an "authentic" true bakery that has been in Orlando for many years and is not a mass producer or chain of general items. Their baked goods are just an oasis of homemade "grandma" type goodies!@
