Hollerbach's Willow Tree Cafe is one of central Florida's best German restaurants located right in the historic district of Sanford. They offer Shunkel Abend Thursday-Sunday which has a live folk band that gets their guests involved leading to a unique dining experience. This is a family-owned restaurant that makes all their sides, dressings, desserts, and more in house. We have daily soups and lunch specials in addition to our vast menu that caters to anyone's appetite. Not only is the food and atmosphere unique and exciting, but the German beer and wine selection is amazing.

Although we are not technically part of the family, we have always been treated like it! The Hollerbach family goes out of their way to make you feel special, from attentive servers, delicious authentic German cuisine, or a divine glass of German wine (just ask Theo for his recommendation, the Willow Tree Cafe goes above and beyond the call of duty to make each visit an enjoyable treat. With the addition of a full bar and the live weekend entertainment this has truly become a destination place. Best part is you can bring you children and just relax as the German Performers entertain both children and adults alike. To the Hollerbach's, thanx for keeping Downtown Sanford alive!

I go here fairly often. Good food and laid back atmosphere. Lots of attentive servers and apparently low turnover.. Much more enjoyable than going to the chain restaurants where the service can be hit and miss.

I really think that live music venue is stretching the description of this RESTURANT.
Nice atmophere, decent food (especially the German Potato Salad) but
really I think Willow Tree should be listed elsewhere. The same music
every week doesn't really scream live music venue to me as that is not
the true focus of the resturant.

As a former Sanford native, I can truly say I don't miss any culinary experience, ambiance, hospitality, or live entertainment nearly as much as I do the Willow Tree's. Not only does the employee-family know how to have a wonderful time, they show everyone else how to do the same! The first thing I ALWAYS want to do when I get back to Sanford is make a beer and schnitzel run to the Willow Tree. No one tell my mom ;)

Great tasting unique German cuisine at very affordable prices. Live entertainment is very festive and intoxicating. If you live anywhere in the Central Florida area, you should definitely partake at this establishment.

I see many people saying that Hollerbach's Willow Tree Cafe is the best place to eat in Sanford. I say it is the best place for entertainment and food IN ORLANDO!!! The atmosphere is amazing and laid back, the staff truly treats you as a guest (not just a customer), the food is to die for, the German beer selection will sweep you off your feet (if that doesn't work you also have a full service bar), and the owners Theo and Linda Hollerbach will come out and make sure you are having the time of your life. If you don't believe it, come out with me on a Friday or Saturday evening for true fun with live German music. If singing and dancing isn't your thing, come for a relaxing afternoon lunch either outside with a european cafe feel or inside surrounded by artwork. Also, if you dare, I challenge you to walk by their case of homemade desserts and not want to try at least one. My favorites are the apple strudel, the black forest cake, and the triple chocolate cheesecake.
The first time I went there for dinner I had one of those "where have you been all my life?" moments. See for yourself. Enjoy.

Our favorite place to go eat here in Downtown Sanford. Such a family friendly atmosphere. Theo, Linda, Christina, and all the staff are always exceptional. The food is delicious and the entertainment is wonderful. We'd recommend visiting for the Schunkel Abend on weekends for an "out of the ordinary" entertainment experience!

We found the Willowtree by mistake, but it was my favorite mistake of all time. We have introduced a number of people to Hollerbach's, and they have introduced their friends and family. It has everything to do with the fact that the Hollerbachs invest a LOT of time, effort, and love into their restaurant. The food is authentic, fresh, and skillfully prepared. The beer is the best you can get in the US. The service is provided by long-term employees that know everything about the menu and obviously love their job.

This is by far and away the greatest German restaurant on the planet. Everything on the menu is perfect. I wish that my band played German music so I had an excuse to play there. I eat there all the time, and what's even better is that they don't kick me out for looking strange, even with the mohawk. I love this place.

Let see...My husband and I show up with our four children and a few guests without a reservation. We've always gotten a table inside. The staff loves children (so do I)! I've taken many friends and family members to Hollerbachs and they all leave quite elated that the food was soooo good and that the accordian brought tears to their eyes. The entertainment is family friendly (maybe it does get a little rowdy in the late late hours, but that could be caused by the delicious beer). Did I mention the part about GREAT GERMAN BEER?!?! Did I also mention that its on Draft??? Don't delay, try Hollerbachs today. Order the Eisbein (a succulent pork shank/hock slow roasted), heaven and earth potatos, and red cabbage with the Paulaner Hefe Weiss wheat beer thats on draft. In fact, go ahead and order Das Boot to share at the table. Sing along with the sweet ladies who's table is always reserved just for them (you'll know them, they hand out the music sheets in case you want to sing along...and you will). And you must have dessert. Something to cleanse the palate. I suggest the Apple Strudel. You'll sleep like a baby. Besides, who else gives gummie bears (real german gummie bears) to the children as part of their meal. Sounds to me like one of the four basic food groups (theirs also schnitzel, fruit and goldfish crackers too).
