Not only is Volta an awesome store with lots of cool vintage clothes, but they also offer paintings and pillows from local artists. However, it's the personal service from owner Kim Johston, her enthusiastic personality and love of fashion that makes going to Volta a fun shopping experience! I've also sent along a photo taken at a Fashion show that Kim produced at the Peacock Room, of my Mom Shelly and Kim.

Volta has helped me out on a number of occasions for wardrobe to perform in. I have a duo and am the singer of Grande Tourismo. We perform lounge/bossa nova/euro-pop type music and actually performed for Volta's Grand Opening because we love the shop so much!
The selection is always hip, fun and ranges from Femme Fatale to Daisy May, throw in some Betty Boop and don't forget Earth Girlie Mom.
A recent development, the gallery with wearable art, fabulous handmade bags decorated with buttons, lace & hand painted and original art on the walls has turned the shop into a place that could easily fit into the east village of NYC.
Thank you Michele & Kim for working so hard to keep us coming back for more!
