In 1980, Pui Chan chose to pass on his knowledge in a way that is very different from most Kung Fu schools. He decided to move his family to Orlando, Florida, and actually build a Kung Fu Temple in the Wah Lum Tradition, calling it the Wah Lum Temple. He allows instructors from all over the country to live there and undertake intensive training in an atmosphere free of distractions. Chan has done this in order to preserve the traditional ways of Kung Fu training, and to provide an atmosphere of serenity and sincerity in the modern world.

I have had the pleasure of training under Grand Master Pui Chan & the awesome Sifu Masters at Wah Lum for about 6 years. It is my pleasure to also be a part of such a wonderful Temple as I have learned not only about traditional Chinese Martial Arts & Weaponry (& earned 4 gold medals at Int'l tournaments with their direction), but also have gained a "family" of wonderful people! I LOVE WAH LUM! Melanie LaJoie

I will start going here on my birthday... I don't understand why it isn't number one! They have a internationally recognized kung fu system and lion dance team! I say this is better than any other place in orlando.

Grandmaster Pui Chan has brought authentic and traditional kung fu to the U.S. I am truly inspired by his dedication to the martial art and his continued hard work!

A big thumbs up (nice guy pose) :-D

Both my sons studied with Grandmaster Chan, Sifu Tu, Sifu Mimi, Sifu Marcus and many other Sifus for many years since little. Besides terrific kungfu forms, they learned respect, discipline, control, and self defense. Moreover, they had made great friends and got to be immersed in the traditional Chinese culture. Wished they are still doing kungfu there if not for college and school schedules. Want to be physically and mentally fit? Wah Lum is the place.

The Wah Lum Temple is the best place in the US where you can learn all the aspects of the chinese martial arts: history, philosophy, self defense, health, physical training, chinese weapons, culture... all the tools that help you to develop yourself in a better person. I travel all the way from Brazil to the US just to spend wonderful and unforgettable moments there.

Wah Lum Orlando isn't like any other Martial Arts school out there.
It brings an Authentic Martial Arts lineage and traditional Chinese training style to Orlando. Here you learn Wah Lum Tam Tui Praying Mantis Style and are also taught self-defense. Students can join sparring to better their stamina and technique. There is also Tai Chi, Yoga and a Peewee class.
We don't train in an a/c room so you are guaranteed to sweat with every workout whether you want to or not and that's great!
There are no belts here so you concentrate more on your training than gaining the next color belt. Your advancement is through a written test and physical demonstration of your forms and exercises. Your Sifus and older kung fu brothers and sisters will help you prepare for it.
The Sifus care about their students and push them hard but safety is their number one concern. The students also push one another to be better and stronger but always with the utmost respect.
Out of all the schools I visited in the surrounding area Wah Lum is definitely the Number 1 choice.
In regards to price, you can't get a better deal for the training you receive in any other school. See for yourself.
I highly recommend Wah Lum Orlando to everyone!!

Wah Lum Kung Fu is a great place for people who enjoy practicing by the meaning of kung-fu (hard work). The instructors train their students very acutely and provide the utmost dedication in doing so. Wah Lum Kung Fu has a very nice atmosphere with friendly people and elegant decorations. If you look forward to training yourself mentally as well as physically, Wah Lum Kung Fu is an ideal place for that!

I've been studying at the Wah Lum Temple for close to nine years, though at times not as much as I would like. Looking back, it's truely amazing to see how much I have learned and continue to learn in this bottomless system of knowledge. Whether you want to study martial arts for fitness, self defense, or to embark on an authentic experience in a traditonal martial art, this can be the place for you.

The temple and its staff are all amazing, providing a traditional approach to martial arts, the temple being the first immediate symbol of that dedication. Instead of walking up to a suite in a strip mall, meant for whatever business finds the space useful, Grandmaster Chan provided a temple built specifically for the preservation of the kung fu experience. The classes are all intense and productive beyond belief, I haven't had one session that didn't leave me drenched in sweat.

I was MVP two years in a row when I rowed in college, and Wah Lum training still kicks my butt! Great work out, you feel so accomplished after class. Great way to build self discipline and learn about a culture while making sincere friends.

I have been an Instructor at the Wah Lum Temple since 1990. Due to the circumstances in my life at the moment, I have been separated me from my 2nd home at 851 N. Goldenrod Rd. The Wah Lum Temple has been an inspiration mentally, physically and spiritually and has taught me not just techniques derived from the Martial Arts but a way of living and understanding that I will take with me the rest of my life. The Wah Lum Temple's core family values stems from a commitment to carry on the tradition of it's founding fathers and the spread of the Wah Lum Pai or "Power" to those who righteously earn the right with hard work or "kung Fu" as it is translated to the Western world. It is by far the best training facility, not just in the surrounding Central Florida area, but in the United States.

I have been with Wah Lum Kung Fu for more than 10 years. I had previous training in TaeKwonDo, and some exposure to other styles. I have since been relocated, and miss Wah Lum; there's no place like it. In both the kung fu and tai chi programs, the instructors work with students, providing personal development tips according to their needs. Wah Lum has an invigorating and encouraging environment that quickly becomes a second home for many.

Tai Chi: Into my 7th year there and find the experience exhilarating! Have learned much about forms and weapons, but even more about life. Grandmaster Pui Chan is excellent and offers authentic training. Would recommend either Kung Fu or Tai Chi to anyone of any age who's looking for a great challenge.
